Superannuation Advice Australia (SAA) has partnered with Australia’s leading cancer charity, Cancer Council, to help reduce the financial impact of cancer. We are proud to support Cancer Council’s Pro Bono Program, which helps people affected by cancer access free legal, financial, small business and workplace advice, in instances where they are unable to afford these services. By joining the program, we hope to ensure that individuals can access quality financial advice and assistance, at a time when they need it most!

A cancer diagnosis often means a loss of income for patients and their families, on top of out-of-pocket costs that may not be covered by insurance. These financial pressures can impact treatment options and decisions, particularly for those already experiencing disadvantage. Sadly, finances are often one of the first things people need to deal with after receiving a cancer diagnosis, when really – it should be the last thing on their minds.

Through Cancer Council’s Pro Bono Program, Financial Advisers volunteer their time and expertise to support patients and their families access alternative sources of income, such as superannuation, insurance and Centrelink, while also offering additional debt management and estate planning support. By extending these pro bono services, professionals contribute to relieving the financial stress and burden associated with a cancer diagnosis, allowing people the opportunity to focus on their health, treatment, and quality time with their loved ones.
