About the opportunity – Professional Year Program:

We offer an opportunity to join the SAA Professional Year Program. Successful applicants will work from our Gold Coast office, alongside an attentive, full-service team of experienced financial planners, whose real-world experience and knowledge works seamlessly to deliver best-in-practice financial outcomes to meet our clients’ goal-based objectives.

The Professional Year (PY) standard commenced on 1 January 2019, as part of new legislation introduced to raise the education, training, and ethical standards of financial advisers in Australia.

Due to experiencing high business growth coupled with the new legislation, SAA has developed an industry leading Professional Year program for new entrants in the industry to gain exposure to the Financial Planning environment.

The SAA PY Program provides entrants with a training and education pathway, designed to ensure graduates are able to competently and professionally deliver quality advice and service.

The Program is split into quarters, allowing entrants to transition from a directly supervised approach to an indirectly supervised approach.

Quarter 1 – Client Observations and support to Supervisor/Experienced Adviser

Quarter 2 – Supervised Client Engagement and Advice Preparation

Quarters 3 & 4 – Indirect Supervision of Client Engagement and Advice Preparation

Throughout the Program, entrants will transition through SAA’s departments, gaining extensive knowledge of all areas of the business and the financial advice process.

Following successful completion of the Program, entrants will have the opportunity to progress their career with SAA.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Shadow the Supervisor or other relevant providers nominated by the supervisor with a range of clients
  • Complete documentation as required and undertake follow-up actions
  • Cross training across multiple departments including initial onboarding, insurance and annual reviews
